tephen du Toit was born in Cape Town in South Africa in 1961. Although his formal studies are in History and Geography he has been interested in colour and textiles since childhood.

He moved to the UK in 1984—mostly for political reasons—and then to France in 1985, where he lived firstly in Paris and then in a small rural community. There he learned the skill of tapestry weaving and that encouraged him to pursue his other creative interests. Returning to London in late 1989, he was able to study Art on a part time basis whilst working in the needlework and knitting trade which enabled him to develop further textile skills such as embroidery, crochet and knitting. Moving later into patchwork, clothes and costumes he now delights in producing work which combines everything from sea shells to fake fur into quality one-off garments or unforgettable stage costumes.

As a co-founder of The Magic Factory in 2004, he relishes the exchange of ideas and skills and looks forward to the challenges each new project brings.

imitri Devdariani was born in 1974 and raised in T'bilisi, Georgia. He is a trained actor and artist and has written more than thirty plays.  He directed his plays, Sunday's Angel and The Ear in fringe venues in his native T'bilisi. These productions gained wide acclaim from the media and encouraged him in his directing ambitions.

In order to further his  studies in the areas of directing and film-making, Dimitri came to England in 2002. During the summer of 2004 he staged and directed his own play The Window at M.C.C. North London. Written when he was only sixteen, this was the first of his plays to be performed in England. The performances have subsequently led to an upsurge of interest in his work and negotiations for possible productions of at least two more of his plays are in hand.

He has recently begun facilitating drama workshops for the Wise Thoughts organisation in North London. During these sessions he used a short play, The Swifts by Dominic O'Sullivan which was performed as part of the Haringey Open Studios Event, an arts festival in North London. Later, in July 2005, also as an outcome of workshops with Wise Thoughts, he directed a production of the black comedy 14 Emotions by Gerson Nason.
